Like many Norwegian municipalities, Søgne, Songdalen and Kristiansand were merged into one in 2020. An overall national decision on a regional reform which in many places has had clear local and personal consequences for the inhabitants. Kristiansand Kunsthall invited author Eivind Hofstad Evjemo as "municipal author" in the exhibition series Locale omkalfatringer. Together with visual artist Christina Leithe H., he has portrayed the new Kristiansand in this quiet and dramatic merger year.

This book is the result of their observations. Nobody knows nobody - diplomas from the municipality is a newly written collection of prose texts that Evjemo has worked on during the exceptional year 2020 and completed in collaboration with editors in the spring of 2021.

It is an ambitious book that attempts to enter into dialogue with a concrete political and structural situation, namely the municipal merger of Kristiansand, Songdalen and Søgne. Evjemo and Leithe H. enter here and study various mechanisms and events in the municipality, in everyday life, in the bureaucracy and direct a poetic-literary look at what often hovers outside and below our attention. The project is part of Lokale omkalfatringer, an exhibition series in three parts in Kristiansand Kunsthall (2020), curated by Cecilie Nissen and Pernille Skar Nordby
